DRONE INSPECTIONS TO OCCUR EARLY JANUARY SSVEC WILL BE CONDUCTING DRONE INSPECTIONS FOR ALL MAJOR LINES AND LINES IN "VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER" AREAS These inspections will take place over our service area from January 8th - 19th. SSVEC will deploy American-Made drones beginning Monday, January 8, to inspect 8,250 high-voltage transmission and distribution utility poles. Inspections will consist of thermal photography to identify potential maintenance issues to increase reliability across SSVEC's service area. Inspections will identify potential wildfire hazards. Almost all of these high-voltage utility poles are located along public roads and highways, not on private property. Drone pilots are FAA certified, have thousands of flight-hour experience, and will be clearly identified with company clothing, vehicles with SSVEC logos, and personal company identification. .
